Nestled at an altitude of 2000 meters, at the foot of the Péclet Polset glacier, these visits immerse you in the world of mountain stories and legends. Through fascinating tales, you will discover our values, our passions and the different jobs we do as alpine farmers, cheese makers, gardeners, beekeepers, etc.

Our guided tours are designed to be both educational and entertaining. Families can explore the different facets of mountain life together. Whether you are curious about the art of cheese making or want to discover the secrets of permaculture, each visit offers a great opportunity to pass on knowledge.

- Visit our mountain pasture

Every day of the week in summer

10 h 30 duration : 1h15

Guided by one of our guides, you’ll discover the history of Pépé Nicolas, authentic mountain pasture life from past to present, and traditional cheese-making methods. You’ll meet all the animals on our mountain farm and learn about their daily lives. You’ll also explore our permaculture garden, our flower garden, and the old chalet, furnished and decorated in pure Savoyard style.

For children, we offer a specially adapted tour, supervised by a BAFA-qualified guide. It’s the same tour as for adults, but presented in a fun and accessible way for younger visitors.

The visit will conclude with a glass of Savoyard friendship and a tasting of our dairy specialities, made on site: cow’s tomme and seracs.

- Discovering goat milking by hand

Every day of the summer season

3:30 pm – duration: 1 h 00

Immerse yourself in the world of our Alpine farm and watch the goats being milked! Join us for an enriching experience as you discover the work of shepherds and life on the farm.

What to expect:
  • Warm welcome at Chez Pépé Nicolas farm
  • Discussions with alpacists on the process of milking goats
  • Tasting of cheeses produced directly on site
  • An authentic experience in the heart of nature.

Goat milking is reserved for our customers. If you have a table reserved at the restaurant during the week, plan to have a snack or buy products in our boutique, you don’t need to reserve goat milking.

For hygiene reasons, you won’t be able to “milk” the goats (touch the animals’ udders).

Come and feed the farm animals

Every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday

4:30 p.m. – Duration: Approx. 45 minutes For children ages 5 to 12 Immerse yourself in the life of an alpine farm by taking part in a fun and educational activity: feeding the animals! Accompanied by a member of the farm team, you’ll have the chance to get up close to the calves, goats, poultry, rabbits and pigs and feed them, while learning about their daily lives. Where do they sleep? What do they eat? How do they communicate? Get to know these endearing animals, their habits and their role in mountain life. An immersive experience in the heart of nature, introducing children to animal life, seasonality and alpine farming practices. It’s the perfect opportunity to bond with the animals, ask questions and enjoy an authentic, unforgettable experience.

- Evening - Discovering life on the mountain pastures around the campfire

Every Monday evening during the summer season

9:15pm – Duration: 1h
Join us for a unique evening dedicated to the discovery of alpine life andbook now for an authentic and enriching experience in the heart of nature.
Evening program :
  • Animal Stories: Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of alpine animals and discover their behaviors and senses.
  • Predators: Learn more about the predators that inhabit our mountains and their role in the ecosystem.
  • Grilled marshmallows: Enjoy delicious grilled marshmallows around a convivial campfire.
Allow for a short approach walk, which can be done with a pushchair, and remember to bring warm clothes and suitable footwear.

- Evening - Fireworks

Every Wednesday evening during the summer season

at 10:00 p.m. in July and 9:30 p.m. in August The magic of fireworks in the heart of the Belleville mountain pastures. Go to the Chez Pépé Nicolas website, in front of the shop. Bring warm clothing and suitable footwear.

- Guided tour of honey by Klébert Silvestre

Every Tuesday during the summer season

5:00 pm to 6:15 pm

Belleville-born Klébert Silvestre tells the story of his love affair with black bees, and what’s at stake for our future.

On this tour, he’ll tell you his story and how he developed his love of bees.

A moment of knowledge and discovery followed by a tasting of his authentic organic honey.

- Shepherd Afternoon Workshop - With Valentin, in the heart of the herd!

Every Thursday during the summer season

Join Valentin, our passionate farm manager, for a unique afternoon with his goats!

The program:

Follow Valentin to the mountain pastures and discover the daily life of a shepherd: herding, grazing secrets, anecdotes from the field…
Immerse yourself in real-life farming, at nature’s pace.
End the experience in style with a convivial aperitif and a gourmet tasting of our best homemade cheeses!

- Guided tour of the permaculture high-altitude garden

Every Thursday

11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

With Joseph, our gardener, discover the history of the permaculture garden. A true enthusiast for this method of farming, which combines respect for nature and people, Joseph explains the principles behind this ecosystem and the different techniques used to respect the land and biodiversity.

The visit ends with a friendly drink and a tasting of a product from the garden.

Meet at Chez Pépé Nicolas, in front of Magali’s hut at the entrance to the garden (by the pond).

Discover our mountain pastures by torchlight - Tuesdays & Wednesdays at 6pm

Meet at Chez Pépé Nicolas parking lot, “Parking de la Chasse”, by the hut at the entrance to the path.

18h00 – duration : 1h15

Set off on a unique, guided night-time stroll through our snow-covered mountain pastures. By the flickering light of torches, let yourself be carried away by the magic of the place and discover the secrets of life on the mountain pasture, with its traditions, know-how and breathtaking scenery.

During the winter, our alpine pasture and garden are transformed: the animals have returned to the valley (and therefore not to the site) and nature is dressed in its coat of snow. You’ll discover a silent, majestic winter version of the site.

Your journey will take you to our old-fashioned chalet, a precious witness to the history of the Belleville valley. Here, you’ll immerse yourself in the authentic atmosphere of the mountains of yesteryear, with stories and family heirlooms.

The tour ends in our cheese cellar, where you’ll discover the different stages in the production and maturing of our artisan cheeses.
To round off this special moment, we invite you to taste our cheeses, accompanied by a glass of wine, shared in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Approx. 1 km walk on packed snow.
Appropriate clothing recommended (warm shoes and clothes).
Extend your evening by reserving a table at the restaurant after the tour.

Enter into the intimacy of one of the last mountain cellars.

As soon as you enter, you’ll be surrounded by the ripening wheels of cheese; Valentin, the Belleville farmer, will tell you the story of this chalet and this mountain pasture, how his family continues to bring life to the mountains in all 4 seasons, his passion for the world of agriculture and the art of a job well done.

You’ll be able to sample the chalet’s produce and local charcuterie.

You’ll also have the chance to discover two wines from the region, bottles that tell the story of know-how.

Set off with torches or spend a lovely evening in our restaurant.

Tour of the permaculture garden

Discover our permaculture garden, where we grow vegetables, fruit, flowers and herbs in an environmentally friendly way. This visit will teach you sustainable gardening techniques adapted to the mountain environment.

Visit to the mountain pastures and milking the goats

Set off to explore our mountain pastures, where pastoral traditions live on. You will see how our animals thrive in their natural habitat and learn about the importance of this practice for biodiversity. You will witness the milking of goats, an activity that will delight young and old alike.

We have been working as mountain guides as a family since the 1950s. This is an opportunity for you to discover the history of our family and to meet the great-grandchildren of Nicolas JAY, a true pioneer of ski resorts in the Belleville valley.

Tour of the cheese cellar

Immerse yourself in the world of Savoyard cheese during our visit to the cheese cellar. You will discover the methods of production and conservation, and will have the chance to taste our products.

Tour of the old chalet

Relive the history of the mountain with our visit to the chalet of yesteryear. This journey back in time will allow you to understand the daily life of mountaineers of yesteryear and the evolution of trades in the region.

Night-time torchlight walk

For a magical experience, join us for a night-time torchlight walk. Under a starry sky, let yourself be enchanted by the stories and legends that haunt our mountains.

Fireworks

Take part in special events, such as our fireworks display that lights up the alpine sky.
