Tour of Our Alpine Pasture
Details
Accompanied by your guide, you’ll learn about the story of Pépé Nicolas, what life was really like in the mountain pastures—both in the past and today—and the techniques used to make cheese. You’ll meet all the animals at the open farm and learn about their life in the summer pastures. You’ll visit the permaculture garden, the flower garden, and the old-fashioned chalet with its traditional Savoyard decor and furnishings.
We offer a special tour for children led by a BAFA-certified guide. It is the same tour as the one for adults, but adapted for children.
The tour will conclude with a glass of Savoyard wine and a tasting of dairy products made on-site: cow’s milk tomme, goat’s milk tomme, and fresh cheese.

If you have an Ascension Passport, please select the “Ascension Passport” rate, which includes the 10% discount. We will then ask you to upload a photo of your Ascension Passport. You will pay directly by credit card afterward and will automatically receive your tickets.
You can have lunch at the restaurant afterward by making a reservation directly on our website.
The tour also includes admission to the goat milking at 3:30 p.m.

Discovering How to Milk Goats by Hand
Details
If you have a table reservation at the restaurant this week, plan to have a snack, or want to buy items from our shop, you don’t need to sign up for the goat milking—you’re already registered.
Immerse yourself in the world of our Alpine farm and watch the goats being milked! Join us for an enriching experience as you discover the work of shepherds and life on the farm.
What to expect:
- Discussions with alpine herders about: the goat milking process, their daily lives in the alpine pastures, and the animals’ lives
- You’ll enjoy a special experience with the goats, which you can pet and get up close to.
- An authentic experience in the heart of nature
- Tasting of cheeses produced directly on site
Notes:
- Please arrive at the site a little before 3:30 p.m.; the goat milking will begin around 3:30 p.m.
- In case of bad weather, the goat milking will be canceled and you will receive a refund.
- FOR HYGIENE REASONS, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MILK THE GOATS (TOUCH THE ANIMALS’ UDDERS).

Come feed the farm animals
Details
For children ages 5 to 15 — About 45 minutes
Meet at Chez Pépé Nicolas, across from the fruit shop.
Immerse yourself in the life of an alpine farm by taking part in a fun and educational activity: feeding the animals!
Accompanied by a member of the farm staff, you’ll have the chance to get up close to calves, kids, poultry, rabbits, and pigs to feed them, while learning about their daily lives.
Where do they sleep? What do they eat? How do they communicate? You’ll get to know these endearing animals better—their habits and their role in mountain life.
An immersive experience in the heart of nature, introducing children to animal life, seasonality and alpine farming practices. It’s the perfect opportunity to bond with the animals, ask questions and enjoy an authentic, unforgettable experience.

Discovering Life on the Alpine Pastures Around the Campfire

Join us for a unique evening dedicated to the discovery of alpine life andbook now for an authentic and enriching experience in the heart of nature.
Evening program :
- We ’ll take you to the Théâtre Alpin, a unique venue nestled in the heart of the mountains, where you can enjoy an authentic experience in an exceptional setting, surrounded by the Alpine peaks.
- Animal Stories: Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of alpine animals and discover their behaviors and senses.
- Predators: Learn more about the predators that inhabit our mountains and their role in the ecosystem.
- Roasted Marshmallows: Enjoy roasted marshmallows around a cozy campfire.
Plan for a short walk (less than 100 meters from the store to the theater); it’s stroller-friendly, but be sure to wear warm clothes and shoes that are at least somewhat suitable for walking.
You can reserve a table at the restaurant before the event—be sure to make your reservation by 7:00 p.m. at the latest!

Guided Tour of the High-Altitude Permaculture Garden
Details
With Joseph, our gardener, discover the history of the permaculture garden.
As a true enthusiast of this farming method—which combines respect for nature and people—Joseph will explain how this ecosystem works and show you the various techniques used to preserve the land and biodiversity.
The tour will conclude with a toast and a tasting of a product from the garden.
Meet at Chez Pépé Nicolas, in front of the cabin at the garden entrance (near the pond).
This tour is for adults only and lasts about one hour.

The Little Farmers
Details
Your children will get a real taste of what it’s like to be a farmer!
The workshop includes:
- Observing the milking of goats and talking with the shepherd (prior to the workshop)
- Cleaning up after milking (picking up droppings)
- Equipment provided (apron and gloves included)
- To thank the children for participating, we treat them to a scoop of ice cream made with milk from our farm, in the flavor of their choice.

Discover our mountain pastures by torchlight - Tuesdays & Wednesdays at 6pm

Set off on a unique, guided night-time stroll through our snow-covered mountain pastures. By the flickering light of torches, let yourself be carried away by the magic of the place and discover the secrets of life on the mountain pasture, with its traditions, know-how and breathtaking scenery.
During the winter, our alpine pasture and garden are transformed: the animals have returned to the valley (and therefore not to the site) and nature is dressed in its coat of snow. You’ll discover a silent, majestic winter version of the site.
Your journey will take you to our old-fashioned chalet, a precious witness to the history of the Belleville valley. Here, you’ll immerse yourself in the authentic atmosphere of the mountains of yesteryear, with stories and family heirlooms.
The tour ends in our cheese cellar, where you’ll discover the different stages in the production and maturing of our artisan cheeses.
To round off this special moment, we invite you to taste our cheeses, accompanied by a glass of wine, shared in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Enter into the intimacy of one of the last mountain cellars.
As soon as you enter, you’ll be surrounded by the ripening wheels of cheese; Valentin, the Belleville farmer, will tell you the story of this chalet and this mountain pasture, how his family continues to bring life to the mountains in all 4 seasons, his passion for the world of agriculture and the art of a job well done.
You’ll be able to sample the chalet’s produce and local charcuterie.
You’ll also have the chance to discover two wines from the region, bottles that tell the story of know-how.

Tour of the permaculture garden
Discover our permaculture garden, where we grow vegetables, fruit, flowers and herbs in an environmentally friendly way. This visit will teach you sustainable gardening techniques adapted to the mountain environment.
Visit to the mountain pastures and milking the goats
Set off to explore our mountain pastures, where pastoral traditions live on. You will see how our animals thrive in their natural habitat and learn about the importance of this practice for biodiversity. You will witness the milking of goats, an activity that will delight young and old alike.
We have been working as mountain guides as a family since the 1950s. This is an opportunity for you to discover the history of our family and to meet the great-grandchildren of Nicolas JAY, a true pioneer of ski resorts in the Belleville valley.
Tour of the cheese cellar
Immerse yourself in the world of Savoyard cheese during our visit to the cheese cellar. You will discover the methods of production and conservation, and will have the chance to taste our products.
Tour of the old chalet
Relive the history of the mountain with our visit to the chalet of yesteryear. This journey back in time will allow you to understand the daily life of mountaineers of yesteryear and the evolution of trades in the region.
Night-time torchlight walk
For a magical experience, join us for a night-time torchlight walk. Under a starry sky, let yourself be enchanted by the stories and legends that haunt our mountains.
