Would you like to visit us for lunch, snack or dinner? Our restaurant is well worth a visit! Whether you’re a hiking enthusiast, an avid skier or simply looking for a digestive stroll, there are several options for accessing our restaurant, for lunch and dinner, every day of the season. Come as you like, by the way you like!

On foot from Les Menuires: a walk accessible to all

For holidaymakers staying in Les Menuires, access on foot is a particularly pleasant option for enjoying the valley’s snow-covered landscapes. The itinerary is well-marked and suitable for all levels.

From the Bruyères district, the journey is relatively short and pleasant.

  1. Go to the Valmont residence, where a public elevator will take you directly to the Adonis residence parking lot.
  2. From here, follow the road towards Val Thorens until you reach the Chasse parking lot, the nearest to our establishment.
  3. It’s about a 15-minute walk from Les Bruyères, making it an ideal way to work up an appetite before a good meal.

If you live in the Croisette district, allow around 40 minutes for the walk. Although longer, this walk will allow you to admire the snow-covered peaks and immerse yourself in the peaceful atmosphere of the winter mountains. Don’t forget to bring good shoes and warm clothing, because even if the path is accessible, temperatures can be chilly at altitude.

A memorable winter walk from Val Thorens

The walk from Val Thorens to Chez Pépé Nicolas is a real short hike of around 1h15 to 1h30, ideal in summer, but not recommended in winter, as it requires you to cross areas of ski slopes.

The recommended itinerary begins at the bottom of Val Thorens resort, at the start of the Bruyères gondola, which you’ll take down to Les Menuires. Once in the Bruyères district, a short 20-minute walk awaits you, perfect for whetting your appetite.

  1. Head to the Valmont residence to take the public elevator down to the Adonis residence parking lot.
  2. Head towards Val Thorens until you reach the Chasse parking lot, which is also the Chez Pépé Nicolas restaurant parking lot.
  3. Then there’s a gentle slope up to the restaurant, which takes about 10 minutes.

This excursion is ideal for nature lovers who want to combine panoramic views from a gondola with gastronomic delights. The panoramic views along the way are well worth the trip, and arrival at the restaurant is a well-deserved reward.

On skis: glide right up to our door

What better way to reach a high-altitude restaurant than on skis? For skiers, Chez Pépé Nicolas is within easy reach of the 3 Vallées ski area. You can hurtle down the slopes of the “La Chasse” run in total peace and quiet, and stop directly at our doors for a gourmet break in the middle of a day’s skiing.

Check beforehand that the La Chasse piste is open. Don’t hesitate to ask us or check with the ski area lifts with your Les Menuires, Val Thorens or 3 Vallées ski pass.

– If you’re coming from the Val Thorens ski area,

Take the Pluviomètre piste, then follow Boulevard des Echauds and finish on the Chasse piste, which is on the Les Menuires ski area.

– From the Les Menuires ski area,

From the Les Bruyères 1 gondola (1st intermediate), take the blue Les Bruyères trail, then the red La Chasse trail.

The La Chasse trail takes you right up to our establishment. This is the preferred option of many skiers who appreciate being able to combine their passion for winter sports with an authentic culinary experience, without having to remove their ski boots. Our strategic location on the ski area makes us an essential stop-off point for a lunch break at altitude.

If the La Chasse trail is closed…

Please note that if the La Chasse track is closed, we will provide a free private shuttle service. We will inform you of this when you make your reservation for the restaurant by SMS. In this case, we’ll meet you at the departure point of the “Cairn & Caron” gondola (VT32 Caron) in Val Thorens, next to the bridge with the flags, on the parking side. The minibus journey takes just a few minutes, and we drop you off at the foot of the restaurant, in the Chasse parking lot. Return by shuttle bus is available on request.

By free bus: comfort and simplicity

For those who prefer effortless transport, the free Belleville Valley bus network is the perfect solution. Shuttle buses run regularly from the bus stations in the valley villages, Les Menuires and Val Thorens, dropping you off at the “La Chasse” stop in the restaurant parking lot, just a 5-minute walk from our chalet.

This public transport service is particularly convenient for families with children, people with reduced mobility or those who simply want to enjoy the ride without worrying about driving. Timetables are available on the resort’s website and can be adapted to different times of day, from 8am to 6pm. Don’t forget to ask the driver when to stop, so you don’t miss out!

By car: motorized access for greater freedom

If you have a car, driving to Chez Pépé Nicolas is a quick and convenient option. From the valley, take the A43 freeway to Albertville, then head for Moûtiers. At exit 40, take the Vallée des Belleville road towards Val Thorens.

– From Les Menuires by car, just 2.4 km from La Croisette

Head towards Val Thorens, and just after leaving the station, in the third hairpin bend, you’ll find our establishment. There’s plenty of free parking nearby, and we’re just a 5-minute walk away.

– From Val Thorens, the distance is 5 km

Simply head back towards the valley floor and look for the large parking lot on the hairpin bend. If this main parking lot is full, there’s a secondary parking lot a little further up the road to Val Thorens, also a 5-minute walk from the restaurant.

In winter, however, be sure to equip yourself with snow tires and, if necessary, chains, as weather conditions can make the road slippery. Find out about any traffic restrictions that may apply on certain days.

Plan your visit and your mode of transport

Whichever route you choose, we recommend that you reserve your table in advance, especially during the peak winter season. Our restaurant is very popular, and places can fill up quickly, especially at lunchtime on the slopes.

And don’t forget to check the weather forecast before you come, and adapt your equipment accordingly, even if we do provide plaids. In winter, temperatures can drop significantly, even on a short walk from the parking lot.

Once you’ve arrived, you’ll discover our three themed rooms – the Laiterie, the Grange and the Cave – as well as our terraces offering breathtaking views of the Alps and Glaciers. A unique culinary journey awaits you in the heart of the 3 Vallées area, in an authentic setting that celebrates the traditions of the Savoyard mountains.

So, what’s your favorite way to reach us this winter? On foot for adventure, on skis for fun, by shuttle for comfort or by car for freedom? All roads lead to Chez Pépé Nicolas!
