Saturday June 20, the ascent to the mountain pastures.

Start of the day – 8.15 a.m.

Meet in front of Saint-Martin-de-Belleville town hall to welcome the animals in a mountain atmosphere. To get the day off to a good start, we’ll offer you free coffee.

Herd departure – Between 8:30 and 8:45 a.m.

The route is around 10 km long, with a 500 m ascent.

You can choose to walk at the pace of the cows (gentle) or the goats (steadier). The route takes in : Saint-Marcel, Praranger, Le Bettaix (refreshments provided). Then it’s on to Plan de l’Eau in Les Menuires, before arriving at the Chez Pépé Nicolas mountain pasture.

The menu begins with a generous starter buffet featuring charcuterie, Alpine cheeses, green salad, red cabbage salad, tomato and mozzarella, and carrot salad with cumin and lemon.

Dishes will feature ribs marinated in barbecue sauce and chicken with lemon and lovage, accompanied by grilled zucchini and peppers, polenta and potatoes.

To round off the meal on a gourmet note, we’ll be offering a choice of desserts: panna cotta with alpine milk, creamy rice pudding with caramel, fresh seasonal fruit (apples, pears and watermelon) and an ice-cream cart.

Continuous activity – From 1:30 p.m.

  • DJ for dancing all afternoon
  • Traditional wooden games

Restaurant opens with classic service – From 7:00 p.m.

We offer a dinner and aperitif to all participants of the day.
