The Vallée des Belleville, the largest of the three valleys, stretches from Villarlurin all the way to Val Thorens, offering an exquisite symphony of diverse activities, from refined gastronomy to exceptional skiing and local history, in summer and winter alike.
Les Belleville, a new commune since 2016, brings together 33 villages in the Belleville valley, including Saint-Martin-de-Belleville, the village resort and administrative heart, as well as the village resorts of Les Menuires and Val Thorens.
Historically, the Vallée des Belleville made its living from livestock farming until the 1960s. Nicolas Jay (Pépé Nicolas), then Mayor of Saint-Martin-de-Belleville, took the initiative to develop tourism in the valley with a development plan that led to the creation of the resorts of Les Menuires and Val Thorens.
Today, the Vallée des Belleville boasts a wide range of atmospheres, combining modernity and tradition. Saint-Martin-de-Belleville is one of Savoie’s ‘authentic mountain villages’, steeped in tradition and typical architecture. Les Menuires and Val Thorens, meanwhile, are modern resorts set in the local landscape.

Les Trois Vallées, the largest ski area in the world, is home to seven internationally renowned ski resorts: Val Thorens, Les Menuires, Méribel, Saint-Martin-de-Belleville, Courchevel, Brides-les-Bains and Orelle.
With over 600 kilometres of pistes, this Alpine sanctuary invites winter sports fans to explore the legendary Tarentaise valleys, including the majestic valleys of Courchevel, Les Allues and Les Belleville, as well as the Maurienne valley with the Orelle valley.

Val Thorens
